    Place me like a seal over your heart,

    like a seal on your arm;

    for love is as strong as wrath of tides

    They do but sweetly chide thee, who confounds
    In singleness the parts that thou shouldst bear.
    Mark how one string, sweet husband to another,
    Strikes each in each by mutual ordering;
    Resembling sire and child and happy mother,
    Who, all in one, one pleasing note do sing

    It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame

    f I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains,

    but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing

    Love is patient, love is kind.

    It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails

    And now these three remain: faith, hope and love

    If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love,

    Many waters cannot quench love;

     rivers cannot wash it away.

    And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity

    Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth

    for your love is more delightful than wine

    A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.

    constant in all other things
    Save in the office and affairs of love:

    Therefore, all hearts in love use their own tongues;
    Let every eye negotiate for itself
    And trust no agent.

    Where love is great, the littlest doubts are fear;
    When little fears grow great, great love grows there.

    Yet I have not seen
    So likely an ambassador of love;
    A day in April never

    came so sweet,
    To show how costly summer was at hand,
    As this fore-spurrer comes before his lord

    You would for paradise break faith and troth,
    And Jove, for your love, would infringe an oath.

    This is the very ecstasy of love
    Whose violent property foredoes itself,

    And leads the will to desperate undertakings
    whose month is ever May,

    Spied a blossom passing fair,
    Playing in the wanton air:
    Through the velvet leaves the wind,
    All unseen can passage find;

    That the lover, sick to death,
    Wish'd himself the heaven's breatThis is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."

    For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

    She lov'd me for the dangers I had pass'd,
    And I lov'd her, that she did pity them.
    This only is the witchcraft I have us'd:
    Here comes the lady; let her witness it.

    seven days and nights?
    Eight score eight hours? and lovers' absent hours,
    More tedious than the dial eight score times?
    O, weary reckoning!

    If heaven would make me such another world
    Of one entire and perfect chrysolite,
    I'ld not have sold her for it.

    Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs
    Being purged, the fire in lovers' eyes,
    Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers' tears.
    What is it? A madness most discreet,
    A choking gall and a preserving sweet.

    See, how she leans her cheek upon her hand!
    O, that I were a glove upon that hand,
    That I might touch that cheek!

    My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
    My love as deep; the more I give to thee
    The more I have, for both are infinite

    Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die,
    Take him, and cut him out in little stars,
    And he will make the face of heaven so fine,
    And all the world will be in love with night,
    And pay no worship to the garish sun.

    O spirit of love! how quick and fresh art thou,
    That notwithstanding thy capacity
    Receiveth as the sea, nought enters there,
    Of what validity and pitch soe'er,
    But falls into abatement and low price,
    Even in a minute!

    She never told her love,
    But let concealment, like a worm i' the bud,
    Feed on her damask cheek; she pin'd in thought,
    And with a green and yellow melancholy
    She sat like patience on a monument,

    How wayward is this foolish love,
    That, like a testy babe, will scratch the nurse
    And presently, all humbled, kiss the rod.

    how this spring of love resembleth
    Th' uncertain glory of an April day,
    Which now shows all the beauty of the sun,
    And by and by a cloud takes all away!

    I do not seek to quench your love's hot fire,
    But qualify the fire's extreme rage,
    Lest it should burn above the bounds of reason.

    looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
    And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.

    fire sparkling in a lover's eyes;
    Being vex'd, a sea nourish'd with lovers' tears:
    What is it else? a madness most discreet,
    A choking gall and a preserving sweet.

    therefore, and tongue-tied simplicity
    In least speak most, to my capacity.

    The little Love-god lying once asleep,
    Laid by his side his heart-inflaming brand,

    Whilst many nymphs that vowed chaste life to keep
    Came tripping by; but in her maiden hand
    The fairest votary took up that fire
